OpenWorship 0.6.2 has now been released. This release is a quick bugfix that fixes a critical issue in version 0.6.1 that caused OpenWorship to not run after install. The Mac OS X download has been updated, the others (windows, linux32, linux64) will follow shortly.
Use the download link above to download the new version.
OpenWorship 0.6.1 is just out! This is just a minor release to fix a few bugs
that shipped with OpenWorship 0.6:
Fixed bugs:
- Changing songs removes screen clear setlist
- Song sorting in setlist is lexical instead of numeric
- Drag and drop reorder is buggy
- Live song edit doesn’t scroll automatically
OpenWorship is a simple and easy-to-use multimedia application for presenting lyrics to worship. OpenWorship is free software, and is designed to be usable on all of the major platforms (windows, mac os, linux).

This Saturday, my local church used OpenWorship to project the lyrics for the Saturday service. Being there and seeing what worked and what didn’t work gave me some really nice first-person feedback. Based on that experience, I’ve logged down a few bug reports/papercuts to be fixed in a minor 0.6.1 release. Hopefully, it’ll be out in a few weeks time.
The second release of OpenWorship is just out! What’s new:
- The text output is now prettier, with centered text
- Image backgrounds
- Drag and drop support
- Reordering of playlist
- Clear/blank screen
- Song transitions: smooth fade in/fade out when moving from slide to slide
- A lot of interface fixes, icons added where appropriate, etc.
